MYRNA’S POLITICAL MISSION
“Even as a child, I have always felt that there was something wrong in a society where there is only the very rich and the very poor. I saw first hand the ugliness of families living in extreme poverty in makeshift dwellings made of card boards and tin cans. I felt horror seeing children eating out of garbage cans. Meanwhile, the rich live in marble houses staffed with masses of servants at their beck and call. I saw the desperation and agony of parents who are unable to give their children the lives they wish they have.
I felt numbed and shocked watching the ruling elite squashed the disenchanted poor with its military might when all they wanted were food, shelter and clothing for their children. My disillusionment with a corrupt and tyrannical government marked the beginning of my political awareness; hence my driving force in public service and my passion for protecting the ‘American dream’ through the democratic political process.
